There are different types of fever , the most important are:
Continuous fever .-The temperature is always high, and the difference between the morning and evening temperature does not exceed even a degree.
Fever sender .- The temperature is always high, but unlike the previous one , has downswing of 1 to 1.5 degrees in the morning.
- If these accesses are daily it is an intermittent fever everyday.
- If these accesses are given on alternate days there is talk of a tertian fever.
- If intervals of 2 days off is called cuaterna fever.
The most common causes are malaria, suppuration, tuberculosis.
Relapsing fever .- is as above, but showing apyrexia periods alternating with other febrile, but waves in the latter.
Undulant fever .- presented with several days of fever, separated several days of apyrexia, drawing days of fever feverish waves.
It is in brucellosis and the linfogrnulomatosis (Pel-Ebstein fever)
Irregular fever .- oscillations with varying degrees and no rhythm.
Hectic fever .- are needles, with high temperatures in the afternoon, and normal or near normal in the morning; register with night sweats and poor condition.
Dromedary fever .- is divided into 3 phases:
- Initial phase, are initial days of heat rise.
- Phase latency, descent stage in the next few days.
- Preparalitico or paralytic period, finally there is a greater rise.
This type of fever can be found in polio.
Fever inverted .- with maximum temperature in the morning, and minimum temperatures in the afternoon; It is in Basedow's disease and the granúlicas tuberculosis.
This fever can end in two ways:
- Crisis, when the fever stops abruptly, if this occurs during high - temperature fever, would cause abundant sweating typical pneumonia.
- Lysis; when fever slowly ceases. typical of typhoid.
