What is hunger?
Hunger is an unpleasant sensation, with urge to eat. which may be accompanied by pain located in the epigastrium.
The changes in appetite are important characteristics that lead to certain diseases.
Hyporexia or loss of appetite .- is decreasing the desire to eat or appetite, if this ongoing situation may be accompanied by thinning ( frank anorexia ), and occurs in diseases such as:
- Neoplasms
- Infections
- Febrile illnesses or affecting the general condition.
Hyperorexia .- is the increased appetite or desire to eat food which is not concomitant the amount of food consumed with body weight, occurs in diseases such as:
- Mellitus diabetes
- Hyperthyroidism
