SITUATION
☻ odd bone is at the front of the skull
☻ is part of the cranial vault and the bed of the orbits
CONFIGURATION
It has two faces and a circumferential edge
1 .- exocraneal FACE
It is divided into two parts by the orbitonasal crest.
CRESTED orbitonasal
It has medium segment and two sides:
The middle segment is the nasal notch articulates with the nasal bones and ascending process of the maxilla.
The side segments, orbital arches are present inside out:
☻ Apophysis internal orbital, which lies between the ethmoid and maxillary ramus.
☻ internal front recess for vessels and internal frontal nerve.
☻ Escotadura supraorbital, for supraorbital vessels and nerve external front.
☻ Apophysis outer orbital, which articulates with the top angle of the malar.
VERTICAL PORTION OR FRONT
Convex, presents:
☻ Remnants metopic.
☻ The front half or glabela eminence.
☻ Superficial arches.
☻ The front side ridges.
☻ side or temporary veneers on the front.
ad
HORIZONTAL PORTION U orbitonasal
In the midline presents:
☻ ethmoid coverage, to accommodate the ethmoid
☻ The ethmoid semiceldillas surfaces and the anterior and posterior ethmoid channels, articulate with the lateral masses of the ethmoid.
☻ The nasal spine articulates with the nasal bones.
On the sides are the orbital pits present:
☻ The lacrimal fossa, which houses the orbital portion of the lacrimal gland.
☻ troclear The fosita for pulley oblique muscle.
2. endocranial FACE.
In the midline presents:
☻ The ethmoid recess
☻ The blind hole
☻ The frontal crest
☻ The superior sagittal sinus canal surrounded by pits of Pachiommi. to set the arachnoid tissue.
On the sides of the front trenches, and mammillary eminences.
Circumferential edge.
It has two segments:
☻ semicircular or parietal vertical segment, it articulates with the parietal.
☻ horizontally or sphenoid segment, articulates with the lesser and greater wing of the sphenoid, limiting between both the contour of the superior orbital fissure.
The front insertion gives:
☻ MUSCLE orbicularis
☻ MUSCLE superciliare
☻ MUSCLE TEMPORARY
